JobsInSports.com is assisting a PGA golf tournament hire their staff of interns for the 2006 tournament. The Tournament Intern primarily supports the sales managers in tournament sales and ticket distribution activities. At no time during the internship are interns expected to solicit tournament sales. Extensive training on the ARCHTICS® ticketing system (a Ticketmaster property) is provided. Additionally, candidates should be aware that the internship includes a considerable amount of clerical and administrative duties including filing, data entry, answering the main switchboard phones, mail merging and mail stuffing. The internship begins this summer and ends May 31, 2006. The intern is required live in the Dallas area for the duration of the internship. This internship opportunity is ideal for recent college graduates. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship ($8 per hour) with some overtime and weekend work required. Characteristics of Ideal Candidates Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects, and able to prioritize their time. Knowledge of spreadsheet applications such as Excel is preferred and strong organizational skills are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important due to the significant number of phone calls and questions interns are required to handle. Because we are a customer service-oriented group, a friendly, respectful attitude both within the office and when assisting customers and Salesmanship Club members is essential. Prior knowledge about the game of golf is not required.
